The Bear Mountain Street Gang will keep Ski Dazzle rockin’ with the Vert Ramp show center stage at Ski Dazzle 2009 presenting X-Games contestants and World Cup Skate Tour Skaters and BMX riders. Depending on pro-tour and travel dates, you never know who will show up, but there are always national and internationally ranked athletes to thrill the audience. Performers take to the Vert Ramp daily to show off their signature moves, the latest gear and their eye-popping stunts. Ski Dazzle’s 80-foot indoor rail hill offers two features for aspiring riders to compete on. There will be huge crowds to cheer them on and online press coverage from Snowboard and Freeskier magazines and other industry media outlets.
The Ski Dazzle Rail Jam™ contest is open to boys and girls in two brackets: under 15 years of age, and 15 and older. Registration is easy, just go to SkiDazzle.com and click on the “Rail Jam Contest” link or “Contest” tab on the home page. Contestants may register online for this event, or download the “Ski Dazzle Rail Jam™” contest official registration form and fax or mail it by the noted deadline. Contestants MUST follow the instructions posted on the website and must have completed the official registration form. Space is limited so be sure to sign up early to confirm your spot. Limited space in the rail jam contest may be available, on a first-come, first-served basis at the Ski Dazzle shows.
Every Ski Dazzle Rail Jam™ contest competitor will be required to wear a helmet; present a photo ID if 18 years of age or older, and sign a waiver. RAIL SLIDE INSTRUCTION “PROGRESSION SESSION” – FREE LESSONS & DEMOS
Parents, this is an opportunity, like no other, to get your child FREE Rail Slide lessons with professional instructors, right at the Los Angeles Ski Dazzle show. Professional staff will both demonstrate and give free hands-on instruction about the SAFE way to approach and ride terrain park rails and boxes for skiers and snowboarders.
This is a great way for skiers and riders, of all ages, who want to take advantage of resort terrain park features, to start the season safely, learning with their own gear, or using our demo equipment. Every session rider will be required to wear a helmet, present a photo ID if over 18 years of age and sign a waiver. If participants are under 18 years of age, they must have a parent present at event who must sign a consent form.
To kick things off, there will be resort team skiers, riders and pro demo team members on hand to show their latest moves on the Rail Jam and to help get everyone excited about the upcoming season. Photo and autograph sessions will follow team demos where participants can speak directly to the experts and pick up hints on how to improve their next on-snow experience.
Free Lessons on The Rail Slide are limited and scheduled throughout each day at the show. To learn how to ride terrain park features safely from the pros, right at the show, participants can sign up on-line. Very limited sign ups will also be accepted at the Ski Dazzle show! Executive Chef Rick Wineman has won numerous culinary awards in his career, from coast to coast, including four consecutive Four Diamond Awards and ProChef Level II Certification at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. In his current position as Executive Chef at the Los Angeles Convention Center, he manages a staff of 140 culinary personnel who have catered numerous, stellar events for celebrities from Hollywood to heads of state; from the Grammy’s to the Emmy’s and People’s Choice Awards.
In concert with the Los Angeles Convention Center management, Chef Wineman has been instrumental in helping the Los Angeles Convention Center achieve status as one of the “Greenest Convention Centers In The Nation”, by converting kitchen and food service operations and reducing the center’s carbon footprint through aggressive conservation and innovative green management practices.
